Will a black light really illuminate blood? I am trying to find a better way to track wounded animals, and it looks like blood tracking flashlights aren't getting rave reviews. I have seen all these tv shows where investigators find blood using black lights and was wondering if that is TV magic or if it really works. If so, is there a specific type of black light needed to do this? They are spraying luminol on an area and it reacts to cause blood to show up under a blacklight. It doesn't do that without the luminol.
Whats wrong? My period was meant to start 2 days ago but there are brown clots instead? I'm definatly not pregnant coz I'm not sexually active. Its usually heavy by day 2 but its just a light brown track and some brown clots, no blood or anything. Havn't got any cramps but i usually do. Whats wrong with me? :( sometimes your period may be irregular and may come later or earlier than your schedule. FOr now you may have it delayed 2 days after your expected date. Usually before periods start there are brown clots or a brown spot you can see on your underwear. Do not be alarmed as they can occur sometimes, just as long as there isnt a very strong awful odor with it. Just to make sure make a phonecall to a health care provider, a nurse or a doctor to ask about that so to alleviate our worries
I had sex a week ago, my periods not due for another week, I just noticed some light blood today.. pregnant? I had totally unprotected sex a week ago and took an emergency contraception pill the next day. I don't exactly track my periods but I had one earlier this month I think and it's the 24th now.. I just went to the bathroom and there was a little blood. What's the chance that I'm pregnant? I doubt that you are pregnant. However, 9 years ago I took an emergency contraception pill and went on about my business and was very surprised to see a possitive pregnancy test so anything is possible as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure the pill is more advanced and effective now than it was then. But if you've already started bleeding you should be fine. And those pills do throw off your cycle a bit. Try not to worry.
After my period ended I had a light spot of blood 4 days later then again a week later, what could this be? My periods are very regular, I track them every month so this came as a surprise to me. There is no discomfort, and the spotting is just a single light drop, it doesn't continue to spot! And it only happened 4 days after my period ended and then again a week later. blood tests for ovulation tracking? Hi I had a blood test yesterday to track for ovulation,which was day 19 of my cycle. I have just for results and the nurse has said the results were looking good, that I may ovulate tomorrow and I have to go back for another test tomorrow. Could someone explain to me what she means by the results looking good? Also I thought ovulation normally occurs at day 14 of your cycle? Could someone shed some light please? I had a daughter 10 years ago when I was 16 but have been trying since May last year for another with no success. I also have very irregular periods (for the past 8 or so years.) Thanks
It sounds like they are monitoring your LH level and detected a surge.
LH is the hormone that triggers ovulation. There is always a low level of LH in our system, but right before ovulation, LH surges. The surge can last for 24-48 hours and then LH falls back down to the normal, low levels. Ovulation occurs 34-38 hours after the peak of the surge, which means that if they saw the beginning of a surge yesterday, you could ovulate today or tomorrow. (this is also how over-the-counter ovulation prediction test strips work, by the way) I hope you've been having regular sex!
It is not accurate to say that ovulation occurs on day 14 of the cycle for every woman. Women ovulate 12-16 days before their next period (average being 14 days). If you have a textbook average cycle of 28 days, then ovulation would be expected at 28 - 14 = 14th day. Not everyone has a 28 day cycle. If you have a 35 day cycle, then ovulation might happen at 35 - 14 = 21st day. With irregular periods, it becomes very difficult to predict ovulation because you don't know when to expect your next period. Ovulation test strips can help, but you have to test every day until you see a positive and that can get expensive if you have long, irregular cycles. You can also monitor your basal body temperature and cervical mucus to give you clues about impending ovulation.

hcg shows 1-2 weeks pregnant but i have light blood? hello. i went to the er last night due to rly bad stomache aches that seemed to go away after they gave me an iv. they drew blood and took urine sample and told me that i have a urinary track infection. they also said that my blood shows im 1-2 weeks pregnant. me and my husband are so excited seeing as how we have been tryin for so long and finally it happened for us. i went home from the hospital and went to sleep then a few hours later i woke up to use the restroom and noticed pinkish redish blood. i was so scared i called my obgyn and she made me an app. for friday to check my hcg leves but till then theres nothing i can do. i just wana know if this is normal or maybe could it be due to my urinary track infection? should i worry?? im tryin to just rest and relax and stay calm but im so scared. so far ive went to the restroom a total of 3 times today including wen i 1st noticed it and 2 out of the 3 times theres been blood. its not a lot but its a bit more then the spotting im used to seeing from my period. its kinda pinkish redish and i have to wiped a couple of times to get it all. sometimes it has brownsih mixed in with it and it doesnt come out in my pee i just see it only when i wipe. im so scared so any info from others experiences or knowledge would be greatly appriciated. this is my 1st pregnancy so im rly nervous. thank u all soooooooo much for ur comments it really helps to ease my mind. hopefully friday wen i get more blood work done everything will be ok.
