FAQ about Blood Tracking Flashlight
Gun Safety Dilemmas - What should you do? You are in your comfortable deer stand. It is the second day of your deer hunt. Walking into the stand with your flashlight, you saw a number of sets of deer tracks in the fresh snow. You are almost daydreaming, enjoying the outdoor experience, when a nice buck approaches the area you have determined to be in your safe zone of fire. You raise your rifle and are ready. He steps into the open, you determine that it is safe to fire, slip the safety off and you shoot. The buck takes a couple of jumps and goes down. Your heart is really racing. You take a few deep breaths and calm down some. You unload your rifle, case it and carefully lower it to the ground. You get down and carefully approach the buck from behind. You notice the eye is glazed. You carefully poke the deer with a stick and determine that it is dead. You get out your license tag and are about to punch out or validate your tag when up comes another hunter who says, "That's my deer. I shot at it first." You think back. You had heard a shot early in the morning. Whose deer is it? What would you do?
You and your friends obtained permission to hunt squirrels on a large farm. Your friend is driving his pickup truck. Even though the farmer told you to drive only on established roads, your friend insists it is okay to drive across a field to get close to a hunting area. He doesn’t listen to your objections and starts to turn off the road into the field. You should:
You are hunting deer in steep, hilly country. You spot a four-point buck. You are tired from all the hiking you have done, however, you push yourself to get close enough for an uphill, across-valley shot at the buck. It is still feeding in an open meadow but about ready to disappear into the thick trees. You find a spot that allows you to shoot prone, using your knapsack as a rest. The distance is about 200 yards. You shoot. The buck shows no sign of being hit. It takes off running down into the trees and out of sight. You should:
When you were loading the deer you shot this afternoon into the pickup truck, you got a large smear of blood all the way up one side of your jeans. It has been a long day and now it is late afternoon and you have a long drive home. Your partner says you should stop at a restaurant to eat supper, which sounds great to you because you are so hungry. However, you look at your bloody jeans. What do you do?
Hunting in an area where only antlered buck deer are legal to shoot, you see a six-point buck within easy shooting range, but it disappears into the brush before you can take aim. Suddenly you see a deer moving in the brush where the buck disappeared. You can’t see its head, only its body. You should:
First scenario, I would say look for a blood trail coming from the direction of the other hunter. If he was tracking it, it's his. If not, try to recover the bullet and do a little CSI investigation (assuming you are shooting different caliber guns). If all else fails, give him the deer. You've already cased your gun and he's carrying his. BTW, I would have kept the gun loaded when you go to check on the deer to see if it were alive. With your gun in the case, what would you have done if it jumped up and ran?
Scenario #2 - Tell him to stay on the road. You have the owner's permission to hunt as long as you follow his rules. Break the rules, lose your hunting privilege.
Scenario #3 - Go to where the deer was standing when you shot and look for blood sign. It doesn't matter how tired you are, or how late it is. If you can't track a wounded deer, you shouldn't take the shot.
Scenario #4 - It would depend on the restaurant, but as long as you're not dripping blood, it would probably be OK. You might consider having your friend go in and bring you out a meal "to go".
Scenario #5 - Don't take the shot if you are not positive of your target. Deer tend to stay in groups, and if you see a buck, there are probably does around, especially during the rut.
Flashlights for tracking game? I want to get my dad one of those LED blood tracking ones for christmas. Some are over $100. and others are only like $30. I dont know anything about them. Do you? Can you reccomend one?
They all work exactly the same. It's a balance of blue LED's and red ones that, when combined, create a third color that makes blood literally glow. The only diff you'll find between the several models is in the number of LED's and the ability to switch to a normal bulb for normal light.
I have a Gerber Carnivore and I have to say, I like it a lot. It's got a xenon bulb that's near tactical bright, too. It's a fine all around light source in any regard.

It's not expensive, so give your pop a good pocket knife, too!
coyote in my neighborhood? okay i would like to explain my situation and then see what u guys think.. coyote or not? i'm pretty scared because i have 2 cats and 1 dog (the cats are indoor cats but my dog usually spends most of the time outdoors) in the past week, there have been many strange things happening around my neighborhood. It all started out when we woke up one morning, went downstairs, and noticed that the screen door to the sliding glass door was shredded, knocked off it's track and there was blood on the screen. sometimes when im downstairs watching tv i begin to hear this growling noise from right outside the door, a good 5 feet away from me, so usually i just shut the tv off and go upstairs (there are blinds on the door so i can't see whats going on out there) One night i was awakened by the noise of what seemed to be a small animal being eaten. I grabbed a flashlight and looked out window but didn't see anything. one night i was awoken at about 3AM to hear my cats downstairs hissing and moaning at something that must have been on otherside of sliding glass door so i got a flashlight, went outside and found that it was just a small deer lying on the ground. so what i would like to know is.. what do u think? do u think that its a coyote that is living in my neighborhood and it was just a coincidence that the deer was there that night, or do u think something along the lines of the fact that the it was the deer that wrecked my sliding glass door to my house... or do u think something completely different? PS. im not sure if this has anything to do with it but we just got a pool about 2 months ago.. BEST ANSWER POINTS WILL BE REWARDED Most likely a coyote... a deer doesn't growl. If I'm right the coyote may even have rabies. any living thing infected with rabies is quite aggressive. If I were you I would notify your local Animal Control and tell them everything that's happened, because the sooner it's taken care of the better. Have any of your neighbors said anything about it? Was your dog outside at all when it happened? Good Luck :)
Why am i having problems in my right eye? Some basic info: - I am 15 years old, and a girl - I usually have my hair covering my right eye (I have darkish hair [ginger with black bangs], if it has any relevence) - I have blondish eyelashes and eyebrows, which dont block out the sun as well as darker ones. - My eyes are blue (I heard lighter eyes are more prone to damage) New things since this started: - I started track for my school, two hours of strict exercise monday-friday. - I got an ipod touch, and i use it a lot - We got a new house, which is really dusty (I highly doubt that's helpful, but ill throw it out just in case) - On the second day of this, i was getting into the car, and i couldnt see the door, and the corner stabbed my bad eye. No blood, or headaches, just hurt for a few minutes and i woke up with a bruize The Problem: For the past four-six days, my right eyes vision has rapidly been getting worse. I have a large blindspot that changes from white to black, depending what my eye wants to block out (It blurrs the whiteboard at school out with a white blindspot, it will blur out stars with a black blindspot). Other than the blindspot, everything is blurry, and has a pinkish brownish tint. Ironically, a week before this started, i got a physical, my good eye is 20/20 and the other one was 20/25 (Which wasnt bothering me at that point). My dad and biology teacher both checked my eye with a flashlight, it looks the exact same, and my eyes dialate the same. My dad thinks its from staring at my ipod (Im not sure about that, cuz i used my DS the same way and as often, before i got the ipod touch.) Ive done some research, and it kinda seems like a burn in my retina (Solar Retinopathy) but i dont stare at the sun, i dont do drugs that make me wanna stare at the sun, or anything like that. My biology teacher (he is also my track coach) thinks its a retinal tear, but that primarily occurs in age 60+. If i cover my bad eye, i see fine, but i dont want to get a lazy eye, and it gives me a small headache. If i cover my good eye, i can barely see anything, and if i use them both, the contrast of vision makes me slightly dizzy and i cant focus. I want some opinions before i go to the doctor, cuz i dont wanna pay hundreds of dollars for something that can possibly be fixed with a home remedy. BTW, sorry for any typos, im kinda in a rush You portray yourself as intelligent for a 15 year old so it should go without saying that you just need to go to an optometrist and have your eyes checked by a professional who knows what to look for. Large spots can be indicative of many serious eyes issues. Your eye sight is not something you should screw around with. And your symptoms would seem to indicate something more than can be fixed with a home remedy.
Black Lab's ear is cut and won't stop bleeding..help!? We have a black lab, it was outside in it's dog house and my brother was going into our barn to play basketball and he let Elwood (our dog) in the barn and my brother is 14 and he looking behind him and there was blood all over the floor, my sister and I took a flashlight and walked around and followed the blood tracks in the snow outside and we think that he may have cut it on something like a nail? My mom and dad went out there and we are putting rags on it to stop the bleeding and the bleeding stopped a little but it still is running a little.... WHAT DO WE DO? my brother is 14 my sister is 12 and i am kelsey and i am 15 adn i have a little sister carly that is 3 months put some baking soda on it to help stop the bleeding and put pressure on it. it takes about 3 minutes for blood to clot. but if it stops bleeding, a quick head shake can start it up again. you may need to take him to the vet so they can wrap it up
What do you think about this short horror story? I had a dream that I just HAD to write about. It was so vivid and real. Anyway, here it is and tell me what you think about it:
An old, rusty warehouse loomed over a lake, its back to the sun. Its shadow was much darker than the others surrounding it. John felt drawn to it and he proceeded to turn the knob of the rusty door. To his surprise, he found the warehouse occupied with quite a number of people. John looked around. A staircase lead to a second floor, the first floor was dirty and barren, there was no furniture, and everything screamed, "Haunted house!" However, the people were much worse. John only recognized three people. One was his mom, another was a friend named Ryan, and the last was another friend named Sarah. Their clothes were shabby and torn, their faces were pale, they seemed to radiate sadness and all they did was sit. John walked around for a little bit but nobody seemed to care that he was here. His curiosity of the second floor grew but he didn't "man up" enough to go up there.
Instead, he asked Sarah, "What happened here? Why are you guys like this?" Sarah gave John a gloomy stare and answered, "Only if you push that button over there will you know." John looked and found a black button on the other side of the room, set on a pedestal. "That wasn't there before," John said to Sarah. Sarah shrugged and resumed her previous fetal position. At this point, John became very timid. His thoughts started conflicting with each other, "Push the button. NO! It's a bad idea! Just look what happened to them! But aren't you curious? Just push it. One push won't do anything..." John walked over to the other side of the room and looked at the shiny, black button. It was so enticing. He looked over his shoulder to make sure nobody was looking. Indeed, everyone had his or her head down. "Just one quick push," thought John. He quickly pressed the black button.
The lights went out. John turned around but saw nothing; it was pitch black. He turned around again, only to find that the button and the pedestal were gone. In their place was a window. He saw through the window that it was night outside. An ominous fog loomed past his view. "Wait, what? Wasn't it bright and sunny before I came here? I've only been here for a short while too," thought John. He turned back around and called out, "Can anyone hear me?"
No answer.
"Alright! Joke's over. The button was a light switch. Big deal! Someone turn the lights back on."
No answer.
At this point, John was getting very worried. He took a big breath and took one step forward, and then another, and then another, and then another. Suddenly, a single light bulb came on, illuminating only him. It wasn't very bright and was comparable to a dim and fading flashlight. In the dim spotlight, John made out a hand by his foot. A little scared, he half-jumped away from it. That's when the lights came back on. To John's horror, everybody was face-down, lying on the floor, cold, unmoving, and all in their own pools of blood.
"Okay guys. Not funny..." said the shocked John. To worsen the matter, the blood was rapidly spreading and covering the floor. And to even further worsen the matter, the blood was filling up the room like how one would fill up a bathtub with water. John hurriedly tried all the doors but they were locked. He noticed the warehouse was also suddenly different. The walls were pure, reddish-orange, metallic rust. A metallic clang resounded in the warehouse as if someone was pounding an axe onto a metal grating. The staircase was also gone. In its place was a door that was also locked. Ankle-deep in blood, frantically searched for an exit. One of the people slowly got up and John stopped dead in his tracks. He probably would have been a little relieved that someone got up except for one fact, the man was faceless. The others rose and revealed their facelessness. As one, they faced John, hands outstretched towards him, and slowly trudged towards him. Their muffled screams sounded from their now non-existent mouths. John pressed his back against the new staircase door and desperately turned the knob. It opened. John hurried in and slammed the door behind him. He saw the new room and froze. He didn't know which one was worse: the bloody room full of faceless people, or this room.
This room was full of sharp objects, each apparently used on something for they were all bloodsoaked. There were meathooks hanging from the ceiling, sharp spikes from protruding from the walls, and the center of the room had a table with meat cleavers of every size and shape. A hulking man was inspecting the knives. Then...
I woke up.
Wow, I really like it. Your description of it reminds me of a nightmare I had recently and HAD to write it out as well; it was so stinking real and terrifying. You did a good job putting this into words. Nice. I like it!
:):):)
What should I do to this story to make it more interesting? (Story is included)? This is a true story and I want to make it as suspenseful as it can.....its a little too long but any help would be much appreciated!!!
My ears are filled with a dreaded scream. Only now I notice that it came from my mom since we were the only two people in the car. I was in the back seat in our silver Mercedes; behind my mom and I was reading from my book using a flashlight that I always kept in the car. I look up with a sudden instinct that something’s wrong. I glanced at the back of her head and I could see her hands are covering her eyes. Just a millisecond later, I could feel something bump into our car with full and extreme energy and my mom pressed on the brakes so we could stop, but that only made it worse. The car was spinning and we were spinning with it. I could see and smell a strong aroma of smoke and lights twirling around me. I was screaming on the top of my lungs just like my mom did before. I saw a big light post and we crashed right into it. Just then, all of the airbags inflated as the car stopped so suddenly. Right then I sat there so confused and not knowing what happened. It all happened so fast. One second I was getting into the most adventure filled part in my book, and the next second I turned out to be in one. But there was no time to think about that now. The smoke was so strong inside the car that we had to get out fast. I pulled the cold door handle, but it wouldn’t budge. I tried again and again, but there was no use; I had to try the other doors and quick. My mom was also trying to open her driver’s door but it also wouldn’t budge. We tried to open all four doors, but there was no hope. I started praying then tried the door. Miraciously, it opened. I yelled, “Mom! Quick! Come back here I got the door open!” I had to help pull her to the back so we could get out. My mom paced 15 feet past where the car was, and collapsed, but she was still conscious. I ran to the other car, but I could not beilive the terror I was seeing in front of my two eyes. There in front of me, were four bloody Mexican men. I could smell their fresh blood that completely covered their white, short sleeved shirts and a strong fume of alcohol. All four of them were unconscious. Right then, I knew that I had to do something. It was a small street and it was really dark and cold outside. My mom was lying on the floor trying to breath, and there was four bloody Mexican guys that were completely unconscious. Our car was beeping like crazy and won’t stop, and I was confused. To top that off, when I tried to bend down my arm, I felt a sharp pain in my elbow. I had to do something quick. I went straight to our car,and I heard my mom faintly saying,”Come back! The car can explode in any second!” Although I knew that I should have listened to her, I went in, in hope to find what I was looking for. I turned off the car’s engine and took out the key, and went in search of Mom’s phone. I looked everywhere. From her purse, to under the seat, to the back seat. When I got out, it was the first time I noticed how big the crash was. Our car was completely compressed in a little square, which explained why the doors wouldn’t open, but there was not one spot where it was not dented. The trunk was opened and all of the vegetables that we got were all over the street. I tried to get my belongings so none of the cars would step on it, but a car came and I had to tried to stop it, but it continued on. I waited until four more cars came but they obviously didn’t have a heart to help. Finally the fifth car came and stopped dead in its tracks. A business man came out, wearing a fancy suit and all and pulled out his phone in his hand saying ,“What happened? Are you okay!?” he said. “Do you need help?”
I said, “Yes, please, I need you to call 911 quick!” He dialed and the operator answered. He told the woman that there was car accident and informed her with the details. He assured me that everything will be okay. I looked Mom. I was so afraid that anything happened to her, knowing that she does not have a strong heart. “Can I use your phone?” I said. I had to call Dad. He was only minutes away because we just came from the store we own, where he is working now. I dialed his phone number and pressed the ‘call’ button. “Hello?” he answered. “Dad, please calm down when I say this, but we got into a car accident at the one way street,” I calmly stated ,”I need you to come here, the ambulance is going to come.” I could hear him gasp. “Please be careful when you are coming, Dad, don’t worry we’re okay.” I gave the man back his phone and thanked him. I sat next to Mom on the damp grass, struggling to bend my arm. It was not painful, but when I tried to move my elbow, it felt as if it was locked in place.
Ten long, terrifying minutes later, the ambulance and police officers came. When they saw how big the accident was, they called for back-up. Just two minutes after they came, my Dad arrived and ran straight to where my mom and I were. I could see the panic and pain in his face. I hugged him, and right then, I felt secure, I felt that I am safe, and everything would be okay.
A couple police officers came to ask me what happened, since I was the only one that was able to talk about it. Of course, I said that I didn’t know. They most likely thought that I am just saying that because I don’t want to admit that we were the ones that bumped in the other car, which was not the case because I knew that it was a green light at our side and it was our way, but I didn’t actually see the incident. So they asked again. I said that I wasn’t looking so they just went to handle other things. I heard a man yelling to bring in the helicopter. I asked the man, ”What happened to the four men?” He said, ”It’s a severe and critical case, they lost so much blood that we need to take them to the hospital very quickly, it’s okay ma’am, it’s going to be okay” I was worried, mostly because there was not one drop of blood on either me or my mom, but these guys lost so much blood that they are going to die just because they were intoxicated while driving.
A paramedic lady came to me and my dad to ask us our info. She asked me if my neck, back, or head hurt, and I told her no but my arm is not moving. She then put me on a stretcher and put a very tight brace around my neck. Before I knew it, me and my mom were tied up in stretchers and being pulled into two separate ambulances. I felt like I was going to fall on the ground as they pushed me up so I panicked. They assured and told me not to worry, but I didn’t know where my parents were, and where I was going without them.
Finally, the doctor came with the x-rays and told me that my bone was cracked and broken so I had to put it in a cast. A nurse walked up behind him and waited. He said that the woman would help me put me the cast. She brought materials, then stood in front of me comforting me. I didn’t know that there were nice people like her. She was just so kind.
She brought cotton, wrapped it around my arm, then took a different type of cloth and dipped it in an unknown liquid. “Now this is going to be very hot, but that’s what is going to make it stick together. It will cool down before I am done.” She smiled brightly. Layer after layer my arm was complete. I looked over at my mom which was in the bed next to us and she was sleeping. The nurse saw me looking at her and asked me if I wanted to give her a letter to show her for when she wakes up.
Although I right with my right hand which was in a cast, I managed to write this:
I love you mom. You are the best. Thank you for everything.
The nurse smiled when I gave it to her for safe keeping. I asked her where my dad was, and she told me in the lobby. She showed me the way and I memorized it so I can come back and forth. When I entered the room, there were only my family’s friends talking. They all got quiet when they saw me and were staring at me. I blushed, not liking attention. I greeted everyone and they were asking me how I felt.
In truth, it hurt so much to walk like every part of my body was broken, not just my arm, after being in the compressed car. Instead I said that I am okay now. We talked, and laughed, but then I remembered my mom and I had to go see her. She was on the iv since her heart was beating irregularly. I saw her and help her hand saying that it's over. She looked at me with pain, and sadness, but I joked with her and she laughed. I knew then that this was a time that’s not going to be forgotten but a time we will look at with fright. I, personally, had nightmares every night since then for 2 months. I will not forget how this situation gave me an insight of how I should know what to do when something dangerous occurs and to be prepared that anything can happen at anytime especially the time when you least expect it such as while reading a book.
THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE MY PERSONAL NARRATIVE. iS THIS GOOD OR NOT? PLEASE TELL ME YOUR INPUT.
That's it?!?!
It's really good?!?
Well thanks, that was worth it to write the WHOLE THING!
It is ok as is, you just have to keep telling the story, from the hospital , where did you go from there, and the parents, then what happened later with the other car,
maybe add where you were prior to getting in car and driving, and how things turned out in the end, and did you get new car, or was your mom ok, how long did the cast stay on,
there are a few letters or words missing, read over slowly and place words into sentences,
"I looked Mom." <> I looked "at" Mom.
..
what is the best blood tracking flashlight? I would like to buy a blood tracking flashlight for tracking wounded animals and would like to know if anyone has one that they like or what the best one for the money is?
I can't speak from personal experience so I did some checking on the web. The first 3 links below lead to places you can but a blook tracking flashlight. The last 3 links lead to reviews of the flashlights so you can get the information first hand.
Basically, it appears that blood tracking flashlights just use red and blue LEDs to create a color that makes blood, or pretty much any red color, darker than it's surrounding area. None of them seem to make blood fluorscese or shine to stand out.
Unfortunatley i'm writing a vampire story? i know it's cliche but it's not like i plan on publishing the thing and no it's NOT like twilight....hopefully. it's a guy/girl pov things where it switches around. ANYWAY here's the first part tell me if its good and btw it's the guy point of view:
I’m running, running as fast as I can. I don’t know where I’m going, and I don’t care. I just know I have to get away…
I can’t stand my life anymore. I’d rather just get away from it all…I don’t care. I don’t need anyone. They all leave me anyway, eventually. You can’t trust anyone in this world, not even your family. Heh. Family. That’s something I never had, not really.
But I don’t need it, not where I’m going. I don’t need it, and I don’t want it. I mean, what’s the point? You get close to a group of people, you feel like you belong, and then all of a sudden you’re just up and sent somewhere else, like you’re a piece of furniture…a thing, not a person. And it happens over and over…new school, new people, new faces, and just when you get used to them, just when you finally feel your room is your room, and you have a crush on that cute girl in chemistry, and the kid you eat lunch with invites you to Big Bear for the weekend, BAM! You never see them again…
I stop running and catch my breath. It’s getting dark now, and I can see the moon starting to peek over the treetops in the spaces between leaves. I don’t even know where I am…in a forest somewhere. Somewhere far away from where I was, I can tell you that. The sky turns pink, and I zip up my jacket. I start walking, because I know I have to keep moving. I’m not stupid enough to stay in the woods at night. Who knows what goes on here after the sun goes down?
Pretty soon everything around me is dark. I adjust my backpack, remembering I packed a flashlight in there. I almost take it out, but decide against it; if anyone else is around, anyone dangerous, having a light will just draw them to me. And the last thing I want is danger. It takes a while for my eyes to get adjusted to the dark. During those few minutes I accidentally walk into a tree.
“Oof!” I step back and rub my nose. “Oh, Jesus,” I moan as I realize my nose is bleeding. I pull my hand from my face. My fingers are covered with thick red blood, and it drips from my fingertips to the dirt covered floor.
I hear leaves rustle behind me. I whip around, scanning the unknown space with my eyes. I have an urge to ask if somebody is there, but then whoever it is, or whatever it is, will reveal itself, and I really don’t want to know what made that noise. For a split second, I think of running out of the woods, back to the city, back to that annoying woman my mother once called a friend. But I think better of it, pull a t-shirt out of my backpack, and press it against my nose.
What does a person do when their nose is bleeding? Apply pressure, and tilt their head back? Well I can’t tilt my head back; I have to keep walking. If I don’t get out of these woods soon, I’m a late-night snack for some lucky wild animal. Not that I would fill them up much…I’m pretty thin if you ask me. But that’s what I get for being on the track teams of three schools since I was eleven.
I have to keep going, keep going, keep going. But how far do these trees go? How long will I walk? There’s no way to tell. I sigh wearily and trudge along, knowing the night has only just begun, and not looking forward to hours of dark uncertainty.
However…a light bulb goes off in my head. If I go to sleep now for a few hours, then I can be awake for the real hours of the night, the most dangerous ones. Plus I’ll be reenergized and alert, so I can focus more as I walk. And hopefully by then my nose will stop bleeding.
I slump against a tree and close my eyes, leaning the top of my head against the cool bark. I still have the t-shirt pressed against my face, and I make sure to keep my head tilted up as I pull my legs closer to me. My breath starts to slow, and I begin to doze off. That is, until I hear a rustling noise above me. I open my eyes with a start, and the first thing I see is a pair of hypnotizing yellow eyes staring back at me.
“AHHH!” I jump up, knocking over whatever is above me. I struggle to retrieve feeling in my legs and arms, try to run away, but something is holding me back. The creature, whatever it is, has a hold of my shirt. It spins me around and grabs hold of my neck, and I’m staring into the face of a tall, middle aged man with grey hair. I can’t stop staring at his yellow eyes.
“Don’t you run away, now,” the man says. His voice is almost as hypnotizing as his eyes. “a boy who sleeps in these woods seeks nothing but trouble.”
I can hardly breathe, and my nose is still bleeding a bit. The man sniffs and smiles wickedly. “I caught the scent of blood the moment I entered this wretched forest.”
That’s nice. Is this the part where you tell me your evil plan for taking over the world?
The man’s fingernail grazes my neck, and I try to swallow, but I can’t.
ok just so you are all aware my computer didn't put the last few sentences (i think) so here they are:
He smiles again, except this time, something changes about him. At first, I’m confused as to what’s different, but then I see it. His canine teeth are growing longer, becoming sharper, and my eyes get wider.
Holy. Crap.
I am face to face with a vampire.
Thank you so very much for attempting not to be a clique like writer! I can't tell you how sick I am of rabid twilight fan girls...
I really liked the story! Send me more? Lol. Also, here is a tip: Do not, do not, DO NOT make the romance drenched in sappy "love" that most teenagers think of today.
I myself am attempting to write a book with a vampire and a teenage witch. Mentally and emotionally, they are around the same age. Physically, they look around the same age. The truth? He's one-thousand years older than her and has been asleep since a great war. I'm trying not to get my writing to be rather romantic, just puppy love that they don't know how to handle.
Will a black light really illuminate blood? I am trying to find a better way to track wounded animals, and it looks like blood tracking flashlights aren't getting rave reviews. I have seen all these tv shows where investigators find blood using black lights and was wondering if that is TV magic or if it really works. If so, is there a specific type of black light needed to do this? They are spraying luminol on an area and it reacts to cause blood to show up under a blacklight. It doesn't do that without the luminol.
