BFP!!! :)) Blood test? Hey all, my new wife (USAFBaby09) and I got our BFP after we got back from our honeymoon in Jamaica!(how great is that for timing!) and while we are awaiting the doc's appt for blood test, we are thrilled. This will be our 1st and after major frustration the first few months and hearing from family and friends and me constantly to relax and not stress, she did not want to hear it.... but low and behold, after kind of adopting a 'screw it, whatever happens happens' for March(started TTC in Dec) what do ya know but the week of our big wedding with her mind not on babymaking at all, we are successful! I could not be happier for her and us. We were in the middle of our honeymoon and with her feeling real tired and cramping(with period not due for another week) she took an early detection test and had a faint 2nd line... We became mildly excited but were not going to get too excited. A few days later she got a darker line but still light. ....The day after returning home from the honeymoon she took a digital test and it said pregnant!! Wow, unbelievable :)) So to all out there TTC and not getting it the 1st few months, RELAX, it will happen eventually! Just because you are not as fortunate as family and friends around you to conceive the 1st time, if it takes 4, 6, 9 months, it doesn't mean there is anything wrong with you!(Mywife was convinced there was something wrong with one of us) so we started taking fertility vitamins, eating better, limiting caffeine intake...and relaxing... and wallah! Oh, the question... with 3 BFP home tests in a row, there isn't a chance at all that these are false positives is there? Please. can somebody explain why O.J. Simpson is a free man with the following evidence against him? DNA analysis of the blood found in, on, and near Simpson's Bronco revealed traces of Simpson's, Nicole's, and Ronald Goldman's blood. DNA analysis of bloody socks found in Simpson's bedroom were proven to be Nicole's blood. Simpson's hair was found on Goldman's shirt even though Simpson claimed not to have been at the home and never to have met Goldman. DNA analysis of blood on the gloves was proven to be a mixture of Simpson's, Nicole's, and Ronald Goldman's. The gloves also contained particles of Goldman's hair and carpet fibers from Simpson's Bronco. Arrest records indicate that Simpson had been charged with the beating of his wife Nicole. Photos of Nicole's bruised and battered face emerged. Simpson was sentenced to 3 years of community service for the crime. Police discovered that the dome light in the Bronco had been removed. A search of the vehicle revealed the light was carefully placed under the passenger seat and was in good working condition. Puzzling blood smears on the passenger floorboard indicated that Simpson may have purposely removed the light and placed it under the seat before the murders (assuming he had indeed murdered Brown Simpson and Goldman). Then after the murders he may have unsuccessfully tried to find it to put it back in the socket. Police on stakeouts routinely remove the dome lights from their vehicles to avoid detection when the car doors are opened. It was discovered that one set of keys to Nicole Brown Simpson's home were missing. She had indicated to several family members and friends that she feared Simpson had stolen them to gain entry into her home. The keys were later found in Simpson's home. Paula Barbieri indicated that she had broken up with Simpson the day of the murders. She indicated he seemed very disturbed at the news. Phone records proved that Simpson attempted to contact her shortly before the murders from his Bronco's cellular phone. The left-hand glove found at Nicole's home and the right-hand glove found at OJ's home proved to be a match. They were also proven to be Simpson's size. Even though Simpson claimed under oath that he did not own a pair of Aris Isotoner gloves, several media pictures emerged showing Simpson wearing these exact gloves. Bloody footprints in Nicole's home were identified as being made from a pair of Bruno Magli shoes. These shoes are expensive and rare. The size 12 prints match Simpson's shoe size. Simpson claims under oath that he does not own such shoes and in fact indicates that he thinks they "are ugly". A photograph was introduced showing Simpson wearing the exact shoes at an NFL football game. Simpson claimed under oath that the photo is a forgery and is backed up by an expert witness. Later, another photo taken by a different source, also showed Simpson wearing the same shoes at another NFL football game. Friends and family indicated that Nicole claimed that Simpson had been stalking her. She said that everywhere she went she saw Simpson there watching her. She was afraid because Simpson had already told her he would kill her if he ever found her with another man. Ross Cutlery provided store receipts indicating Simpson had purchased a 12-inch Stiletto knife six weeks before the murders. What should be the treatment for a patient like this? My mom had caught with "Cirrhosis of the Liver" back in 2000. It got diagnosed in 2002 when she started feeling tired, no appetite, swollen feet, blue marks on skin and abdominal pain. Doctors also told us that she has "Hepatitis C". We started her treatment with "Roferon 3mu". After six months she got better. We found last year that her "Cirrhosis of the Liver" problem is again disturbing her health. We took her for blood test but there were no detections of "Hepatitis" anymore. Doctor told us that her liver is damaged and it is in the "De-compensated Stage". It can not be reversed but it can be stopped to go further. Now she has swollen feet again, watter in abdomen, blue marks on lower legs, itching skin, minor fever, a little high blood pressure but she is not a Diabetic. Her last test results were these. Bruce Branchini and colleagues describe a need for new medical imaging agents that emit near-infrared light -- the light rays that "night vision" technology detects, enabling soldiers to see in the dark. Those rays penetrate deeper into the body and could give doctors a better way of detecting the proteins involved in blood clotting. Scientists already use luciferase, the enzyme that makes lightning bugs glow, in laboratory research. The new study describes an advance toward using luciferase in medical imaging. The scientists combined a protein obtained from firefly luciferase with a special dye that allows the protein to emit near-infrared light. In laboratory experiments, the new material successfully detected minute amounts of a specific blood protein, called factor Xa, which is used to monitor the effectiveness of heparin treatment. Second, it's a very preliminary thing. The chances of anything useful coming out of it are very, very small. Almost all investigations lead up blind alleys, a fact that the medical (and general scientific) community know only too well.

Very weird sensation in lower abdomen - constant tugging/thudding feeling & very light pink blood? Today when i woke up i noticed my breast were aching - very badly Also i had this very strange feeling ~ a thudding/tugging/pulling sensation in my pelvic area - so strong it could almost move ME. my last will have been 6 weeks ago come this friday. When i went to the bathroom to wipe after urinating i noticed a very light pinkish discharge or blood? it looked like discharge almost - but it was pink not red - it wasn't in my panties...and my period is pretty late...i took two pregnancy test maybe a week or 2 ago but both said negative - my cycles can sometimes be off....could this be pregnancy or just the start of a very light period? (i'm not cramping or anything and this 'blood' only shows up when i wipe) i do have some preg. symptoms but i'm guessing i'm not really preg. since both test had one line...or i did it too early? *also my period's aren't always like clockwork but it most definitely would be here by now* also can you take an "early detection pregnancy test" AFTER you miss your period or are they specifically made to only test for an "early" result... i also forgot to mention - that the thudding sensation/pulling was so strong i could literally FEEL it by hand - it almost had the sequence of a heart beat or something..

Has anyone experienced Implantation Bleeding? I know the term "spotting" but I'm wondering whether anyone can describe to me more accurately 'implantation bleeding'. I am now 12 days past Ovulation and when I went to the loo I had a normal vaginal discharge (sorry for TMI) with some (a very small amount of) brownish blood...I wrote it off as the start of my period as I don't know what to expect but then I found an article describing Implantation Bleeding as: "vaginal discharge which usually contains a small amount of pinkish or brownish blood" So should I have worn a Tampon? (as I now am) I'm not experiencing cramps or backache. I do have slightly sore breasts (a week ago they were numb and during ovulation the nipples were very sensitive) I know only 30% of women experience Implantation Bleeding but would love to hear from some of you! Also, how long will it last for? I imagined it was just a one-off detection of blood but I see some people describe it as "light bleeding for 2+ days" ?? Thanks :o) Tampons are a no no when trying to conceive... they can upset vaginal ph and definately never use one for such a little amount of spotting. TSS is very serious-had it. Not Fun! But, what you are experiencing, the timing, the description all sounds like implantation to me! especially if you do not usually spot any time in your cycle. I had implantation with my second pregnancy and it started as you described, dissapeared and came back a few days later. too light for a pad yet too heavy for using nothing, a panty liner sufficed. Luckily, you are close to testing, so you will know soon whether or not it was implantation! good luck, baby dust!

Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV-1) Reactivation After Surgery - Detection Affter brain surgery (at the base of the skull), I believe herpes simplex virus (HSV-1) was reactivated (even though the hospital never tested for it) for I had a stiff neck and couldn't stand any light or sound and never fully recovered. I was given solu-medrol for the swelling. It's been over three years, with no improvement. Besides a lumbar puncture, is there a blood test that can detect the HSV-1 virus? Would acyclovir be the best thing for this? Thanks! UNDERSTAND THAT I am NOT a professional but I wonder if these could help and sorry about your condition I will pray that you get better and/or cured.
Based on this I think a serology blood test would be the answer to your question. I also posted links to some articles I found on the subject of detection. I will post the link to the quote in sources if you want to go over that.
"Serology (blood) tests
When you first become infected with HSV, the body produces antibodies specific for the virus, either HSV-1 or HSV-2. These antibodies are detectable after a few weeks and remain permanently in the bloodstream. Hence, a blood test to detect antibodies to HSV-1 or HSV-2 will say whether or not you are infected. These blood tests are sometimes called 'serology' or 'antibody' tests.
A blood test for HSV can only tell you whether you have been infected with HSV at some time in your life. It does not indicate the site of your infection nor prove that any genital discomfort or lesions you are currently experiencing are due to HSV infection. Some tests only detect HSV-2 but modern blood tests can distinguish between HSV-1 and HSV-2 antibodies.
Blood tests that identify whether you have HSV-1 or HSV-2 antibodies (known as type-specific serology tests) play a major role in identifying those cases that have unrecognised symptoms or no symptoms at all. Blood tests are currently available as either laboratory-based tests or point-of-care tests. Your doctor will explain what your test results mean and whether or not they confirm that you have genital HSV infection. HOW MUCH BLEEDING IS DONE IN IMPLANTATION AT THE BEGINNING OF A PREGNANCY? I TOOK A FIRST RESPONSE TEST (THE BEST FOR EARLY DETECTION) I GOT A FAINT POSITIVE. I AM VERY EARLY IN THE PREGNANCY. I STARTED BLEEDING 1 DAY AFTER MY EXPECTED PERIOD. IT STARTED PINK DISCHARGE TURNED TO A BROWNISH DISCHARGE AND OVER A COURSE OF 3 DAYS TURNED INTO SPOTTING OF BROWN BLOOD VERY LIGHT... NOW ITS TURNED TO BRIGHT RED KIND OF HEAVY FOR IMPLANTATION BUT DEFINITELY NOT HEAVY ENOUGH TO BE MY PERIOD. I HAVE HAD IT FOR A FULL 24 HOURS ALONG WITH MILD TO STRONG CRAMPING. THE BLEEDING IS NOT CONSECUTIVE OFF & ON. SHOULD I BE WORRIED OR AM I ONE OF THE WOMEN WHO HAVE MORE BLOOD THAN USUAL DURING IMPLANTATION? This can either be implantation bleeding, your period, or you are miscarrying. If the cramps get bad and you start passing clots go to the ER right away. Wait a few days and see how things go. Since you got a faint positive...no matter how faint it is it means you are pregnant. Those lines only show up if there is HCG in your urine. Good Luck!! :)

5 days late but negative early detection HPT? Hi ladies, I'm so confuzed. We were only going to start ttc again(after a 9month break), at the begin of my new cycle. BUT it hasn't arrived yet. I don't have any abnormal stress, etc and I'm usually like clockwork, especially since being on 2000mg of glucophase. I did an early detection HPT this morning, that says it picks up your hcg from as low as 10 - but it was negative. My period was due on the 30th Aug. The week before, i had a spot of light red blood and the next day was brown. Also have been a little constipated.(TMI -sorry). Since yesterday, i've had an on/off prickly feeling in my bbs, but i don't know if im just imagining this. I just feel different this month. Any one going through the same or can shed some light on this...? I'd appreciate it. Thank you...xCx I'm from SA, so we don't have that 'first response' test. I think i must just wait it out! Sooo frustrating! :( Oh - and we have been ttc for 2.5yrs. Gave it a break for about 9months. Hi!!
I am going through the EXACT same thing (minus the 2000 mg Glucophase). My period was also do the 8/30..no period yet & negative test result.
But lets not get discouraged.. never know.
