I already have Navigator fog lights so I'm good in that respect. Now for those that don't know, I am getting four (4) housings total and two (2) sets of the bulbs to match the stock look. But since the bulbs are dual beam (high and low), I am going to make the two outside housings the dims while the inside ones stay off (like stock). But for the brights, I am going to wire them so that all four housings come on bright beam instead of the two insides bright and outsides low. Get what I'm getting at? I hope...

By making them glow red, refer to the picture of the light housings on ebay. Runners ONLY. They will not be illuminated during regular driving for the sole purpose of NOT pulling a ticket. =]
Don't know about the states, but here the headlights must be white... anything else gets defected and put off the road
they are basically stock halogen bulbs with them (and altho it's hard to read on the pic they appear to be 65/55w ones) with coloured filters stuck over them
so the light output would be down compared to a normal 65/55w bulb anyway (the filters reduce the light put out on the road)
forget the colours, fit 130/90w instead and then you are beginning to get into a good bright light
or to have truly `melt the tar at 100 metres' lights- look into `HID' (high intensity discharge' lamps
they will fit those h4 lamps and will be far brighter
(HID are the ones fitted to all the high performance sports cars... make the road 2km down the road look brighter than daylight)

AFAIK that is pretty much the way it works worldwide- lowbeam is outer lamps with offset/shielded filiments
highbeam is both inner and outer lamps with focal point unshielded filments
or does the usa have some strange system like it had with blinking red lights for indicators??
CAMPING - HEADLAMP For wilderness Great Bear Rainforest? I want to know from those who know, who actually go into bear country wilderness, what is the best headlamp. I have a Black Diamond (MODL?) and looked at the Priunceton Tec Apex Headlamp. I can't recharge it in wilderness. I have a Petzl that is pretty good, but I usually take a cheaper Princeton Tec on backpacking trips because it's slightly lighter and adequate around camp. If I was hiking at night, I would take the Petzl. Most LED headlamps are pretty good. A set of alkaline batteries will last quite a while.
