Can you use mini bikes or the baja sports doodlebug in the bike lanes like a scooter.? I want to know if you can use mini dirt bike or a mini bike like the Baja doodlebug in the bike lanes like you would use in a stand up gas scooter? Whats so different about the mini bike and gas scooters like goped? So do the rules apply to mini bikes as they would to gas scooters, or you can't use them on public streets? They are not road legal for several reasons, mainly safety concerns to do with size, power, lighting and brakes. and the top speed is not fast either.

How do I find the best Carb settings on my 49cc mini bike? How do I find the best settings for my mini bike? It seams to top out slower than normal and has a slower acceleration ever since my friend screwed with the screws on the carb of it. It is a 49cc mini chopper. I had this problem then I just on day was passing by a Ford dealer and walked in and just asked. All you do is turn on the bike let it run for a couple of mins. Next start turning the air/fuel mixture screw until the bike sounds like its about to turn off, then just turn the screw in the opposite direction half a notch or so where the engine sounds stable and you are ready to go.

Unfortunately, pocket bikes are outlawed nearly everywhere except private property (with permission) or a riding facility. If you are in the country with not many people around a passing cop wouldnt care but in mainstream society they are illegal. sorry its just the way it is. cops see you they pull you aside and you get a fine or a warning whatever depending on their mood

How to attach a mini bike kill switch? I have a mini bike project that I'm working on for an old Stella mini bike. I believe the engine is a Tecumseh but I can double check. I need to install a toggle switch/kill switch. I know that the shorter wire must go onto the handlebars or top of the engine for a ground, but I'm not sure where to connect the other end to the engine. Can I ride a gas powered mini bike in PA? To be more specific am I aloud to ride a gas powered mini bike in Harrison Township, PA? I mean like on streets and back roads. You could, everybody could, mini-bikes are not illegal only because they don't run faster then 40mph and you must have a 49cc or below to ride it legally. Good Luck.

How do I know what sprocket to use on my mini bike? I want to increase my speed on my mini bike but don't really know what sprocket is best anyone got any tips? I am mainly on the road with it and it is a 6.5 hp gas engine. roost66 is half right, you need a bigger sprocket, on the FRONT on the engine not the back. The alternative is to put a smaller sprocket on the back on the wheel. Engine sprockets are usually less expensive because they're smaller.
You need to calculate the final drive ratio, this is the number of teeth on the rear sprocket divided by the number of teeth on the front sprocket. Ratio =(back/front) To find out what will happen by adding teeth to the front change the number in your calculation. You don't want to change/lower your final drive ratio by more than about 0.5 with the small engine you have or it won't climb hills vary well. You can do the same calculation by changing the number of teeth on the rear sprocket.
Example
Stock Sprockets Front 13 Back 46 Ratio=(46/13)= 3.54
Bigger Front Sprocket 14 Ratio=(46/14)= 3.28

Its simple really, mini-bikes are just toys, not proper bikes. If you want to go fast, get a proper racing bike.
