Sigma BC 1909 HR Wireless Cycling ComputerAttention Fitness Freaks. It's a well known fact that Sigma produces some of the top of the line cycling computers. There seems there to be a different model for every different rider. If you are looking for the basics, go for the Sigma BC 1009. If you are a hill climbing junkie, check out the Sigma BC 2209 MHR. And for you fitness focused riders, they offer up the BC 1909 HR to be your friend in fitness.
The BC 1909 HR is a triple wireless bicycle computer that features the most user friendly speed, cadence and heart rate functions, all bundled up in a sexy and sleek modern black casing that enhances the look of your setup.
The BC 1909 HR boasts an ample, easy to read screen that displays all your info clearly and concisely. At a glance you can check on your current, average and maximum heart rate, current and average cadence, the calories you have burned and the current temperature. Of course, this is in addition to the essentials like your speed and distance functions. Since the BC 1909 HR is a higher grade model, it upholds the keystone features of the other high end Sigma Sport models like the handy back light, internal data storage (so you don't lose the info when you change out the battery), five different time functions and the ultra simple menu navigation. The BC 1909 HR is compatible with a two bike setup as well so you can calculate your total distance and total riding times of both your bikes.
Remember, this model is for the fitness focused rider so it sports an impressive list of functions that are accessible to all those who are working toward a goal when they train. The BC 1909 HR comes with a programmable target heart rate zone and a visual zone alarm which will help immensely with your training efforts. The increased heart rate functions and the ability to set your individual target values help keep you on track. Since the BC 1909 HR focuses on training according to heart rate values, Sigma improved the already easily readable display so the biker can see his/her current heart rate, the average as well as the maximum heart rate exactly as on an ECG. Plus, there's an addition of flashing arrows to indicate if you are exceeding or falling behind your target values so you can adjust and optimize your training.
One of our favorite upgrades to the BC 1909 HR is the new (and improved) CR 2450 3V battery. Those of you who don't get the battery significance, let us educate you, the CR 2450 battery should last you three times longer than the standard 2032 battery. There's also a new 'low battery' indicator so you know more accurately when either the computer or transmitter battery is in need of changing. Luckily, with the new battery system you won't have to change it nearly as often as before. Another nice upgrade is the increased range of the STS speed transmissions which is now at 90 cm.
The standard BC 1909 HR is a wireless computer, but if you're pro cable, Sigma offers (for the first time) an optional retro-fit cable holder. Not sure why anyone would want that, but we would be doing you an injustice if we failed to mention it.
Like many of the newest, latest, greatest in cyclocomputers, Sigma has developed computer software so you can download the collected data on to your PC with the optional docking station. Currently the software is only available for the PC, but will be available in a Mac application in the Spring.

Comparison Tool -Compare important bicycle measurements from bike to bike without needing a tape measure. This simple, fast and easy to use tool transfers dimensions from one bicycle to another. with our light weight comparison tool.
This light weight comparison tool, will enable the technician to quickly compare bicycle parts sizes and lengths without having to measure by exact increments.
Estimate the bicycle handlebar width to the riders shoulders by placing the indicators on each side of the bars, then transferring the comparative distance to the shoulder width. With a glance the technician can determine if the fit is correct.
This tool can also compare saddle to handle bar distances from bike to bike.
Place the tip of the comparison tool to the nose of the saddle and one to the handlebar and without need of a tape measure identify the distance from one bicycle to the other.
Are you looking for a new saddle but want to keep the size the same as the well ridden one' Use this tool to "shape share" with old and new.
Compare a number of measurements on a bicycle such as:
---Saddle height from crank to top of the saddle
---Handlebar drops from one bicycle manufacturer to another
---Center of hub to center of crank
---Crank length
Many times numbers just don't matter, and this comparison tool is a must for identifying sizing differences, or problem solving with bike dimensions from the bottom of the wheels to the top of the handlebars.$35

Can I modify my current led bicycle light with a more powerful led? I am currently using a led headlight from a bicycle lighting company but recently my dated led headlight that produces 150 lumens fails in comparison with the newer headlights on the market. So I have been researching newer led's that produces massive lumen outputs. I have settled on one led in particular and its the SST-90. I want to know if I can simply solder the new led into position and it work. My battery is a 6 volt 3ah NiMH. the new led should tell you what voltage and milliamps it requires. if it's the same, then just solder it in. if not you may have to rewire the pwer supply

3 questions
1. would B have a significant advantage in acceleration (like from a stop light) using the same gear
2,would B have a significant advantage of lets say a 30 km road ride of mainly level or slight uphill grade?
3. which has advantage in uphill climb?
thanks

The 26 inch tires will spin up to speed faster from a stop than the 700's (1) and will be a more responsive climber than a 700 (3). The 700c has a little more momentum on the flats so seems to coast better and carry the speed better than the 26 inch tires (2).
I have essentially the same two bikes in my 'stable' that you describe. I run 650c and 700c by 23c on both. I have a 650c tri bike, and my 700c road bike, I love both bikes. But there are some slight advantages to both over the other. If I was a smallish rider, I would opt for a 650c OR certainly not be upset if that is the only wheel size they put on that frame. It would just be a more responsive wheel. On the 650c bike I can push much higher gears (and speed) than I can seem to muster on my 700c bike. My 700c bike is more comfortable and carries the speed better and is much less tiring than the 650's.
I like both wheels, they are just different. Again, If I were a small rider I would look to having the 650c (26 inch) wheel oevr the 700c (27 inch). If I were normal sized, I would stay with the larger wheels.... but in the end it is the ride and the rider that makes the difference. Which ever is on the bike will do it for me!
