What gun should i buy for christmas? looking to buy my first legally owned rifle (in my name! lol) or possibly pistol... heres my choices... help me choose!! Which .45 handgun to buy? Beretta (Italy) or Ruger (US)? I am a US citizen so I'd like to support a US company. But I also have Italian heritage and am learning the language so I wouldn't mind supporting Italy either. I like these two guns because they have a decent price tag and decent reviews. That being said, which .45 handgun would you buy? Ruger P345 or Beretta Px4 Storm? Thanks Today is the 100th anniversary of the Army's adoption of the 1911. Go buy an American made one of those.

beretta px4 storm in 9mm: what are the true advantages of the rotating barrel and locking breech? i have talked to a few people and read a few reviews and the general consensus is that there is no real advantage. the recoil is basically the same as a non rotating barrel and there are no other advantages. if i am missing something here or if someone has real experience with this weapon compared to others can you please fill me in. i am considering buying one of these and would like to know.(plus if there are other good things/bad things about this weapon let me know that too please.) I have a 9mm 92fs and a 9mm PX4
The PX4 has slightly less recoil
That being said; the 9mm 92FS does not have significant recoil;
The PX4 holds more rounds of ammo and has good ergonomics

Now all the rabid Glock owners will tell you how superior their Glocks are to ever other pistol on the planet; but I like the fact that the PX4 has a safety lever and I am partial to pistols with hammers as opposed to striker designed weapons:

Beretta px4 storm cmpct vs Glock 19 vs CZ 75 Compact? After much research I have come to the conclusion that these three guns have the right qualities like reliability, accuracy, +9mm luger.In my opinion Glock 19 is reliable and good gun, Beretta px4 has excellent style , design, and good reliability too. Cz 75 is also rated highly but i still do not know alot about guns. I am considering these three great guns and any opinions, reccomendation, or review on which of these is better out of these three guns will be appreciated. One of these might be my first gun and if you think another gun i may have missed thatt is also good i would like to hear about it too. But i have pretty much decided that these are the ones i like though i hear rugers ,1911, and smith and wessons are highly rated too. THanks! My choice is a third generation Glock Model 19. I presently have a love affair going with one of these pistols. (I'm going to be shooting it all afternoon.) I think you'll find the Glock to be the most reliable, least expensive pistol to own and maintain. I suspect, but I am not positive, that the Glock will have an effective service life, at least, twice that of your other top choices. My own G-19 is never going to be for sale - Not by me, anyway.

CCW Question (revised)? Alright, I've asked a similar question before and now I'm asking again with more details. I'm going to be purchasing a handgun for CCW purposes within the next 2-3 months. Here're the specifications I'm looking for: -Chambered in 9mm -Semiautomatic -Compact (smaller than full size, bigger than subcompact) -Reliability (no recorded defects/minimal jamming) -From a reliable company -Affordable I asked a similar question a month or so ago and got mixed responses that left me even less unsure as what to buy. I had my heart set on a Beretta Px4 Storm Compact until I saw the price ($550, Ouch!). There are several other models that I am considering now including the Glock 19. What's your experience with guns that meet these specifications and what would you suggest I purchase? Website links would be helpful, as would product reviews if you have experience with it. What semi-auto should I get? What handgun should I get? I originally wanted to get the Beretta PX4 either .40s&w or .45ACP but even with the smallest grip it's too big for my hand. I really like all the stats on it and the reviews. Plus the price was great. What would you recommend? I tried out a Kahr K40 and that fit pretty good. Just didnt see too many good things on that. Defense, CCW, plinking, target practice, hunting, all of the above?
There are dozens upon dozens of excellent choices in handguns, and each has its pros and cons. My recommendation would be to go to a gunstore or preferably, a shooting range where you can rent different guns, actually get to hold and shoot them, and then firm up a decision. Guns are like cars - there's nearly endless variety and each is designed for different purposes. Even within a certain genre (such as polymer framed semi-autos) - there's a lot of variety and different people have their different favorites. The best gun for you is the one that you feel the most comfortable holding, shooting, and operating.

Help! Beretta 8040 Cougar G? I am looking for any info on the Beretta 8040 Cougar G. I love my PX4 storm and it looks like the 8040 cougar preceded that, but I can't find any info on it. What I'm looking for is... MSRP, Average review, opinions etc... thanks I have no idea why Ahab wants to express rage over the Beretta 8000 series of handguns. They are available in 9mm and 40 S&W, single and double stack. Earlier James Bond series liked Beretta, as did the US military. I can't find the 8040 either. Regards, Larry.

How effective will a .45 ACP polymer-framed pistol be in the outdoors? I am interested in buying a .45 ACP for concealed carry, home defense, and for use in the field. I recently went hog hunting and was put in a situation where I would have felt a lot more comfortable with a sidearm. I see the polymer pistols are more commonly used for law enforcement, military, and home defense. How effective do yall think they are in the field? Secondly, I have researched many brands. I think I have narrowed my choices to a few. The Smith & Wesson M&P .45, the Sig P220 or 250, the Beretta Px4 storm .45, and the FNP 45. Any reviews or recommendations? All of those are top-quality pistols. You need to handle all of them and choose the one that fits your hand the best and that you can shoot the most comfortably. Those have very different grip styles and you will definitely favor one or the other, so you need to handle them.
The Sig is a single-stack magazine with less capacity, but a thinner grip that you may find more comfortable. I prefer it for that reason, but the Beretta Px4 Storm is also very comfortable. The other two are not bad, but not as comfortable FOR ME.
Also, the Sig is not a polymer frame, but lightweight aluminum. Either way, it is still a very serviceable field sidearm. You will not go wrong with any of those choices. You may decide you prefer a safety on your field sidearm, so look at which models have them. What criteria did you use to narrow your selection thus far and what pistols have you already ruled out and why?
