would the Beretta PX4 Storm Sub-Compact Pistol be good for a first time handgun user? is it easy to clean and to take a part and how many time should it be cleaned Just as easy to clean as the full size storm however I would suggest a full size handgun for first time buyers. Better to learn safety, and the how to's of shooting. Lower recoil in the bigger gun and easier to learn control and aim.
I would go with the 9mm full size Px4 Storm. Very smooth shooting, low recoil.
I also like the Taurus 24/7 Pro and the Springfield Armory XD.

What model Beretta PX4 storm 40 SW should I get? I recently got my degree in criminal justice and am looking to join the reserve police team in my county. I have decided to purchase a handgun and this will be my first one although I have shot others. (Glock 23, Beretta M9). I do not know what model (F,D,C, or G) would be a better choice for possibly carrying while a reserve cop.

When is the Beretta Px4 subcompact handgun and the Rx4 storm semiauto rifle going to be available? I saw these on the Beretta website, but can't tell if they're for sale anywhere. Another website said that production started on these back in 2004? Both the Px4 pistol and the Cx4 Carbine are available now through any Beretta dealer. I've fondled them both at my Friendly Local Gun Shop in the last three months.

Beretta PX4 Storm. Can you use the de-cocker to change it to a DA for the first and remaining shots? Looking to buy a handgun. Need to know a little more info. on this one first. Thank you! I'm not familiar with the Storm. On my pistol (not a Beretta), if you engage the de-cocker, the hammer safely falls and it disengages the trigger. This is a De-cocker/trigger disengage safety switch. So, if you want to now fire it double action, you have to disengage the de-cocker safety switch. Once you fire the gun, the slide will automatically c o c k the hammer again. So, you have to engage the switch to drop the hammer then disengage the switch to release the safety. Awkward process. . .

Beretta Px4 Storm - 9mm or .45ACP? I am thinking of purchasing a Beretta Px4 Storm handgun for both Concealed carry and home defence. The only decision i have to make is what caliber. It's either the 9mm or the .45, as for some reason I'm just not a fan of .40SW. Things for consideration are mag capacity, stopping power and ammo price. (I would appriciate if I dont get a load of BS about 12gauge being best for home defence) Thanks guys. I would choose the .45 ACP over the 9mm anyday. Forget about mag capacity. Shot placement is of the utmost importance. What good is having 17 rounds in the guns, and you can't hit anything, or the round is ineffective. The old Colt 1911 only held 7 in the magazine and done the job well for the military for over 86 years, before some pencil pushing bureaucrat decided 9mm was the way to go, and now the military is thinking about switching back to the .45ACP in a more modern handgun.

Taurus PT1911 45 or Beretta PX4 Storm? I want to buy a new handgun but I can't decide which one between the Taurus PT 1911 or the Beretta PX4 Storm in 40 cal. Does anyone own any of these handguns or both? I need some opinions to help me make decision. The main reason to buy one is for self defense. I owned the Storm in 9mm and it was a very nice handgun but I grew tired of the Single/double action trigger pull. Very smooth shooting, reliable, never jammed up on me.
A friend of mine owned and I shot several times the Taurus. Very nice 1911. Smooth and comfortable to shoot.
The problem though is these are two totally different platforms of handgun and caliber. One is a polymer frame while one is a metal frame. I prefer the .45acp over .40sw because 40 to me as too much snap in the recoil.
Both are reliable and and well made for defensive use. I traded my Beretta for the newer Ruger SR9 Double action trigger and I prefer the Springfield Armory XD over any other polymer framed handgun...
