How effective will a .45 ACP polymer-framed pistol be in the outdoors? I am interested in buying a .45 ACP for concealed carry, home defense, and for use in the field. I recently went hog hunting and was put in a situation where I would have felt a lot more comfortable with a sidearm. I see the polymer pistols are more commonly used for law enforcement, military, and home defense.
How effective do yall think they are in the field?

All of those are top-quality pistols. You need to handle all of them and choose the one that fits your hand the best and that you can shoot the most comfortably. Those have very different grip styles and you will definitely favor one or the other, so you need to handle them.
The Sig is a single-stack magazine with less capacity, but a thinner grip that you may find more comfortable. I prefer it for that reason, but the Beretta Px4 Storm is also very comfortable. The other two are not bad, but not as comfortable FOR ME.
Also, the Sig is not a polymer frame, but lightweight aluminum. Either way, it is still a very serviceable field sidearm. You will not go wrong with any of those choices. You may decide you prefer a safety on your field sidearm, so look at which models have them. What criteria did you use to narrow your selection thus far and what pistols have you already ruled out and why?

Is there a .45 comparable to Beretta PX4 Storm that is available in the Philippines? Since the Beretta PX4 Storm .45 is not available in the Phlippines, I am looking for an alternative. The Storm is rather unique in design and appearance. If you can't get that, I can't think of anything very similar to it. The Springfield XDs are excellent polymer pistols, the Glocks are ubiquitous, and the 1911 is still the classic standard to which all .45 pistols must be compared.

I am currently carrying a 9mm (Beretta PX4 Storm), I just recently found out that they have make a 45 ACP (Beretta PX4 Storm) as well and am thinking of purchasing one.Does it really matter? To each his or her own on the type of pistol you prefer, I personally am a Beretta man myself. I just wanna know which caliber do you think is better or worse? Thank you!
The best caliber to carry is the one you can conceal that you can shoot well. Lets face it, even if you can conceal a 50 cal desert eagle, it won't do much good if you can't hit with it under stress. While I lean toward 45 cal. myself, I would not feel uncomfortable carrying a 9mm. The difference between a 9mm and a 45 isn't that great, providing you choose a quality self defense round.
Depending on the time of year and your choice of clothing, you may be able to conceal a full size 45 acp, or you may have trouble hiding a single stack micro 380. Best to carry what you like, that you are familiar with and can shoot well. If you like the beretta and are proficient with it, carry it.
I am in the Philippines and I am trying to find a dealer for Beretta PX4 Storm cal.45.? Which handgun comes close to Beretta PX4 Storm cal.45, as substiture if this isn't available here in the Philippines? Back when Subic and Clark were in full stride and the kids still jumped in the river for coins you could find 1911's in the back of most bars and novelty shops. Haven't been there in over 25 years so I couldn't tell ya now.
Beretta Px4 Storm - 9mm or .45ACP? I am thinking of purchasing a Beretta Px4 Storm handgun for both Concealed carry and home defence. The only decision i have to make is what caliber. It's either the 9mm or the .45, as for some reason I'm just not a fan of .40SW. Things for consideration are mag capacity, stopping power and ammo price. (I would appriciate if I dont get a load of BS about 12gauge being best for home defence) Thanks guys. I would choose the .45 ACP over the 9mm anyday. Forget about mag capacity. Shot placement is of the utmost importance. What good is having 17 rounds in the guns, and you can't hit anything, or the round is ineffective. The old Colt 1911 only held 7 in the magazine and done the job well for the military for over 86 years, before some pencil pushing bureaucrat decided 9mm was the way to go, and now the military is thinking about switching back to the .45ACP in a more modern handgun.
Beretta 45 acp px4? I just bought the new 45 acp px4 by beretta and I wanted to get a magazine reloaded. Being a brand new gun, I don't think there is a reloader specifically made for this gun. I found an hks magazine reloader that is for a 7 or 8 round 45, but I was curious if it would work. I have an 9 round and a extended ten round mag. Any advice would be appreciated!

Taurus PT1911 45 or Beretta PX4 Storm? I want to buy a new handgun but I can't decide which one between the Taurus PT 1911 or the Beretta PX4 Storm in 40 cal. Does anyone own any of these handguns or both? I need some opinions to help me make decision. The main reason to buy one is for self defense.
I owned the Storm in 9mm and it was a very nice handgun but I grew tired of the Single/double action trigger pull. Very smooth shooting, reliable, never jammed up on me.
A friend of mine owned and I shot several times the Taurus. Very nice 1911. Smooth and comfortable to shoot.
The problem though is these are two totally different platforms of handgun and caliber. One is a polymer frame while one is a metal frame. I prefer the .45acp over .40sw because 40 to me as too much snap in the recoil.
Both are reliable and and well made for defensive use. I traded my Beretta for the newer Ruger SR9 Double action trigger and I prefer the Springfield Armory XD over any other polymer framed handgun...
