Can the Benelli Supernova shoot Shotgun slugs? Hey i've just started hunting and i need help with stuff so please answere my question thanks everybody! Yes you can as long as the barrel is of a improved cylinder or cylinder bore choke. Also you could put in a rifled choke tube or replace the barrel with a slug barrel.

What do you think of the Benelli Supernova as a first shotgun? My friend who is a fairly avid hunter, suggests i get a 12 gauge version of the gun, I know benelli is a very good brand and these guns are relatively cheap. so what is your opinion? Benelli is a good choice however a higher priced firearm as well. If you are looking for your first shotgun and do not care about the spending money then I would suggest the Supernova. Stoeger is the sister company that Benelli uses as their off brand name, if I remember right the p200 or p2200, something along those lines, is the exact gun of the Benelli supernova, looks and internals just a different name. You can save yourself about $100 going that route.
If you are looking for a very nice dependable all around shotgun that will last you years to come, I would suggest the Mossberg 500. You can pick these up usually for around $250 brand new. They are the staple of pump shotguns. It was my first gun and I still have it and use it and only it for the last 12 years. My father was the same way going on 30 years as well as my step dad. Mossberg is a great manufacturer.
If you are wanting the cheapest you can go, H&R makes a nice pump as well as Maverick that you can pick up for around $175. However these guns are only the caliber you purchase them in.
As far as changeable I would suggest the supernova or Mossberg 500. The reason being is that you can purchase different barrels for these. You can change them to 20g or 12g barrels as well as slug barrels for hunting large game animals. You can also get them with 18 and 20 inch tactical barrels for self protection. They can also be transformed into blackpowder rifles and you have an array of choices for the butt stock design and material.
Just a foot note, Stoeger's version of the supernova only come in the caliber you purchase it in. You cannot change it.

We sell a lot of the guns for waterfowlers and pheasant hunters. A very good gun! The choke tube and size of the pellets will determine what the gun will shoot the best.
I've found an improved cylinder with #4 steel shot to work well for ducks. I use the same imp cyl with #6 lead for pheasants. For longer shots I'll shoot a mod. with a #2 for ducks and #5 or #6 lead for pheasant.
I use an imp cyl or skeet choke tube for grouse with a # 7 1/2 lead.

Is this safe to use on a benelli supernova? I was wondering if it is alright to use the Remington Rem Oil spray on a benelli supernova(which has black synthetic finish made of polymer i believe). I don't know much about cleaning guns because this is my first shotgun. Has anyone used rem oil on a benelli supernova? Rem Oil is good for all guns, regardless of finish. If you get some on a spot that it isn't supposed to go, just wipe clean with a soft cloth.

Which is a better shotgun the Benelli Supernova or the Remington model 887 Nitro Magnum? Which is better? Benelli or Remington? Also the Model 887 has that new polemer that protects it. The benelli si a great all around gun. I use it for shooting trap or hunting. And it feels great in the hands and it has very lil kick. Also it doesnt feel fake or cheap.
This gun is a great buy. Most gun stores sell it for around $450 to $520 new.

where is the model number and the serial number on a benelli supernova? I can't find either and the damn books don't give much help. When I saw that you didn't get an answer I pulled my and looked. The serial number is on a plate affixed to the bottom of the receiver, just to the rear of the forearm. It will be covered by the forearm when the action is open.

What is good about a rotating bolt in a Benelli Supernova? Just thinking about getting a Benelli Supernova Tactical and wanted a little more information on the configuration of the Benelli action. Posting a question regarding firearms on the cycling forum is very puzzling.

How to increase ammo capacity in a Benelli Supernova? I guess what i am asking for is how to be able to hold more than three shots in the gun.
