Is it legal to buy/own a Benelli M4 Super 90 or a Benelli M3 Super 90 with pistol grip in CA? I am considering the purchase of a shotgun for home protection and would like a semi-auto with pistol grip. Any suggestions? California defines assault weapons as having 3 'dangerous' characteristics, the guns you mention have 2, being semi-auto, and having a pistol grip. If you added a flash suppressor or bayonet lug, or any other 'dangerous' accessory, then it would be illegal. However, all guns sold in California also have to be on the approved list. You can have a gun shop look up the models you are interested in, or you can find the list online. I would post a link, but I'm too lazy to find it right now.
Who would be issued the Benelli M4 (12 gauge shotgun) in the military? I've heard that the USMC has adopted the Benelli M4 semi-auto shotgun and it is now being phased into the Army, Navy, and Air Force. My question is who is usually issued the shot-gun? And is that the only weapon they carry, or is it a secondary weapon? this is obviously the US military I'm talking about. Mostly security guards but there are some applications for MOUT operations. Better?.... Yes --- Just a plain, boring inexpensive pump shotgun is all you need.... Yeah yeah yeah the Benelli M4 is a great shotgun.... But for home defense it doesn't offer much more than a regular 12 gauge pump..... At $1700 I say pass on it.....
Just a plain old Mossberg 500 is all that's necessary.... I can afford any shotgun on the planet that I want.... But what hangs behind my bedroom door is a Mossberg 500 Persuader....
A plain no nonsense model is plenty..... This 12 gauge 8 shot pump is all that's needed.... Spending over $1300 more isn't going to make you any safer.........

stock vs stock/pistol grip on a benelli m4 shotgun? I'm interested in getting the benelli m4. I just don't know which grip is better. They have the option of pistol grip with stock or remove the pistol grip and just get stock. Which one is better when it comes to accuracy, stability, recoil etc etc. Also, do they only use slugs or will they also take 00 buckshot?
Pistol grip gives you a little more stability, but the plain stock feels a more natural. Handle one thoroughly before buying. The stock on the pistol grip can be a bit long and uncomfortable for many shooters, making you stretch to reach the trigger. Tacticoolness aside, I'd get the adjustable.

next best things from the Benelli M4? I got a chance to play with a benelli m4 today, and i must say it's ridiculously awesome however i don't think i can bring myself to pay $2300 CDN for it. Is there a tactical shotgun that looks and functions just like it? The Benelli M4 is so expensive because a) it's a Benelli and b) it's gas-operated. If you can go sideways from gas to a pump shotgun, you'll find the Benelli Nova Tactical looks similar, functions flawlessly, and costs much less. In the US the Remington 870 has devoted following but it's also a pump. A person proficient with a pump action can operate one nearly as quickly as a gas system. The pump doesn't have the complicated, hard to reach places to clean, either. You can also look at the Benelli M1, M2 inertial shotguns. These don't use the gas to reduce recoil and cycle the action; they use the inertia--"kick". But you won't see the lower price on these that you will with the Nova Tactical pump.

A very good shotgun. Benelli makes a great product and as a result I have bought two of their shotguns and looking at the m4 for a home defense gun.(If its good enough for our military it good enough for me) They dont have as many accessories as some of the older name brands but quality is no less.

In V0.81.1 there is finally another special infected. The Jockey is quite fast. He pounces on top of people when he jumps once he pounces on your head, you will rapidly lose health until he is shot off or you die. Also added is a semi automatic shotgun (benelli M4) to help combat the infected up close. Finally, the military base has vulnerabilities for easy access for infecteds.
