On my Ti-83 plus, the batteries are about to die and I dont want to lose my programs.? I may be remembering incorrectly, but I think years ago I changed the batteries in my old ti83 and it deleted all of my programs. I've spent hours making these programs for my pre-cal class and I dont want to lose them. Is there some way to change the batteries and not loose them?
Usually if the programs archived, then they won't be erased if you change the batteries quickly. However, I would backup the programs just in case (perhaps via computer). Obviously this would be easy to do if you had the cable and linking software, but if not, then maybe you can type up the source code? It doesn't have to be exact, just something you can use to remember the code.
You can archive programs by going to [2nd][+](Mem) > 2:Mem Mgmt/Del > 7:Prgm... and then pressing [Enter] on everything you want archived. An asterisk (*) should appear next to the program name, indicating archived status.
How do you know if you are using the backup batteries on the TI-83 Plus graphing calculator? Will a warning show up on the screen? I have been using the same batteries for almost a year and I don't want to use up my back batteries.

If the normal AAA batteries are running low on power, then there will be a message "Batteries Low" or something similar when you turn on the calculator. The only major time the backup battery will be used is if the normal AAA ones die. Then the backup battery will kick in and prevent you from losing your settings, programs, etc until the normal ones are replaced (note that the calculator still won't turn on).
In other words, the backup is only used to preserve data, much like the CMOS battery in computers that help keep system time even when the computer is off/unplugged.
Has anyone gone to Batteries Plus for Ipod battery? How long do Creative© Zen V Plus batteries last? I just got an 8GB Creative© Zen V Plus MP3 player for Christmas. The instruction book says it takes 6 hours to charge the built-in battery, but it doesn't mention at all how long the charge will last for. I know it depends how loud the music is and everything, but what is an approximate number? If it takes 6 hours to charge I expect it should play for at least 6 hours too. You probably don't want to hear this, but I had one, and after 2 months, it froze up completely. Then part of the plastic broke, and now it won't play music. Just a warning.

In less than a month, I had to replace my batteries because my calculator would stop working. also, i never downloaded anything into my calculator. **Is the TI-84 suppose to use up batteries that fast? No, make sure you turn it off after you're done using it each time. I also think the TI84 has 2 sets of batteries. One set in the back they are like AA batteries. Then there are also little round batteries that are under a little plastic thing that you have to unscrew. I think there are like 3 or 4 in there. You might want to go and but all new ones in. Then make sure you turn it off after you're done with it each time. Good luck, that should work if it doesn't then it sounds like there maybe an issue with the calculator. I hope that fixes it, those things are way to expensive to not work right.
