Army Aviation In Vietnam, Modeling Reference Books by Squadron SignalArmy Aviation In Vietnam, Modeling Reference Books by Squadron SignalAir Warfare Modeling Reference Books by Squadron Signal. During Vietnam, the US Army employed a variety of aircraft to accomplish combat missions. Following turf and budget debates with the Air Force, the Army settled on the use of various helicopters and some fixed-wing observation planes. Using airmobility and air assault strategies, the Army was able to demonstrate the ability to rapidly move significant amounts of men and equipment on the battlefield. Army aircraft were further used as gunships, medevacs, air controllers as well as surveillance and transportation. FAQ about Army Aviation

Looking for the Army Aviation Song with music and lyrics COMBINED? I am an Army Aviation instructor. I have an mp3 of the Army Aviation song "Above the Best" and I have a word document of the lyrics, but I cannot find an mp3, mp4, .wmv, .avi, etc. file with the music and lyrics both combined. All answers are greatly appreciated and 10 points will be awarded to the first person to provide the requested material. Plain ol' guy - No offense taken. I am not a flyboy, I operate and instruct Unmanned Aircraft Systems / remote controlled surveillance planes. I gather aerial imagery / imagery intelligence to assist soldiers on the ground who risk their lives kicking in doors. No offense dude but you fly boys kill me.

Getting into army aviation as an officer? I plan on getting a bachelor's degree. I'm not sure what it will be in, but probably an arts degree (maybe history) rather than a technical/mathematical degree. I am curious as to how I can attempt to enter the aviation corps as an officer in the army. I know the army assigns you to a corps as an officer, but what how do they determine which corps you will be placed in? I am interested in aviation as well as a few others (medical corps and intelligence). Can you tell the recruiter which corps you're interested in? Or do you really have no say in the whole deal? It's a merit based ranking depending on how well you do in whatever method you choose to earn your commission. Not surprising, Medical and Aviation go first, both are very competitive.

Where can I find a list of the CURRENT aircraft fleet (airplanes, not just helicopters) for US Army Aviation? Looked all over net and cannot find specific CURRENT aircraft fleet for US Army. Not even on US Aviation site or US Army site. Where? Is this info accessible to the public? (NO SUBSCRIPTION OR MUSUEM SITES PLEASE) unfortunately I am in the Civil industry, and my awareness of the military aircraft is really humble, however you may contact the FAA to obtain the information your requested.
Best of luck.

What does an Army Aviation Officer do? Prior service Army Medic and current ROTC Cadet here. Can any soldiers in the Aviation branch, present or retired, please tell me what exactly a fresh 2nd Lieutenant would do in Aviation? I know he or she would begin flying helicopters, then gradually move on to an administrative role, but can anyone give me some more detail? Also, what the heck do you call aviation platoons and companies? Squadrons, troops, what is it? Thanks so much. First off, it depends on the job you do as an Aviation Officer. There are Maintenance Officers in Army Aviation.
I was in Army Aviation, Company B, Third Platoon, if that is any help.

Questions about being an army aviation warrant officer? What is the minimum/average length of contract for an army warrant officer applicant who wants to go aviation? What kind of security clearance do I need to get to be a warrant officer? I wear contacts but my vision isnt THAT bad. I've heard from some people that I could get the army to pay for laser eye surgury. Is that realistic as somebody who isnt in yet and wants to be a pilot or am I going to need to get the surgury ahead of time? To go aviation means almost 2 years of school, so you're looking at least a 6 year commitment.
You will need a secret clearance. So long as you don't have any egregious skeletons in your closet, and your financial history is fairly clean you should be fine
As for the eyes, it depends. They aren't just going to pay for lasic because you want to be a pilot, but once you're on active duty it is possible.
You'll have to pass a flight physical, take the ASVAB and a flight test. If you're serious, you should really go talk to a recruiter. Don't be nervous about it, it's not like the movies where they do a little double talk and the next morning your on a bus to basic training. The process takes a couple months, they're very friendly and will work with you.
check out this site on warrant officer recruiting- http://www.usarec.army.mil/hq/warrant/index.htm
or
goarmy.com - and just go talk to the recruiter

Can Red-Green colorblindness eliminate me from the Army aviation program? I am a 20 year old male and I am currently enlisted in the Army National Guard. I will be going to WLC this summer and should be finishing my bachelors degree within the next year or so. I routinely score 300 or better on the APFT. I have been told I am an excellent candidate for WOC school but dont know if my condition eliminates me from the aviation program? Going active duty and becoming a pilot is my goal. Appreciate the help. You can be on a flight crew, but not a pilot.
You can learn to fly as a civilian though. The FAA doesn't have a colorblind rule.

What is are an officer's responsibilities in army aviation? what are the day to day tasks what requirements qualify a person to become an officer in army aviation Officers number one job in the Military is to be Leaders. After that, there job duties come into play. As of any field in aviation, Warrant Officers must meet specific criteria to be in Aviation. Depending on what there duty assignment is, will determine there daily task. If you are a pilot, then you focus on flight training. If you are in a Command position, then you focus on leading your troops. Anyone applying as an Army aviator must also take and pass the (ASVAB) test with a general technical score of 110 or higher. In addition to the ASVAB test, he is also required to take the Flight Aptitude Selection Test (FAST) and receive a score of 90 or higher. Just remember that Officers in Army Aviation as pilots are Warrant Officers.

How do I obtain a copy of an Army Aviation Incident Report? On 13 Aug. 2002 I as a crewmember on an Army helicopter that was alleged to have flown dangerously close to a beach in Italy. The investigation affected me deeply and lead to me leaving the military. I have never seen the report from the investigation and was never formally briefed on it's findings. It has been a while since it happened but I still want to find out what he report said. The the aircraft and crews were from the 12th Aviation Brigade and the investigating officer was from the Southern European Task Force (SETAF). Well since you are out of the Army, I doubt you can look at it if the incident is still under investigation. Maybe a laywer can point you in the right direction.

Army Aviation? I'm looking to become a helicopter pilot through army rotc and i want to know if most people are accepted into the pilot training as long as you get the minimum required scores on the required tests. minimun only?! why would you shoot for the minimum? if the Army is going to pay you to be an officer, why would we consider the minimu?

What are the 3 best army aviation posts to be stationed at? My husband is an aviation mechanic and we are wanting to know what other people opinions are about army housing and which ones are kid friendly Aviation you are limited to where you can go.
Ft. Campbell, KY isn't that bad. They built new housing or you can find a decent place off post. Nashville is about 60 miles away. There are things to do from time to time around here.
Hunter Army Airfield, GA sucks in my opinion. It is hot and humid. Savannah really doesn't offer much. The only thing about it was you are close to Tybee beach. Never looked at the housing.
I think Ft. Carson, CO moved back to Ft. Bliss, TX. Ft. Carson was awesome and plenty to do right in Colorado Springs. They had new housing has well.
He might get overseas as well.
