With its own definite look, it has a very different luxurious but hard-wearing PVD coating finish. Apeks XTX200 RegulatorThe Apeks XTX200 model is the flagship of the Apeks fleet of fine regulators. It has all the features of Apeks' previous ATX200. That is to say, adjustable cracking control, reversible venturi system, pneumatically balanced valve, micro adjuster, heat exchanger and environmentally dry sealed first stage. The problem with the majority of regulators on the market, and that includes Apeks' previous range of valves, is that they are right-handed. This means that when using more than one cylinder, divers tend to find that their right shoulders can become overcrowded with hoses. The octopus compounds this problem, as it also has to be worn over the right shoulder. Apeks has taken this common problem and come up with the obvious - a left-handed option. Only trained Apeks service technicians are authorised to reverse the valve operation, so the handedness needs to be specified on ordering. Now the second stage can be routed over the left shoulder, which is especially useful for dual-valve twin-set configurations. Another, sometimes criticised, feature of the previous Apeks models was that the exhaust manifold tended to be a bit small. The result was that bubbles used to interfere with your field of vision. Apeks has tackled this problem by giving the user a choice of either small or large exhaust diffusers. These are user-interchangeable and both types are provided with the valve. Lastly, an ANSTI graph taken at a test depth of 50.7m (seawater depth) shows that the performance has also been tweaked. The work of breathing is now down to just 0.41J/l. Underwater, the XTX200 doesn't disappoint. It is incredibly smooth to breathe from. You will be amaxed at how even the breathing effort is. There isn't a hint of an initial higher workload to crack the valve, or any over provision of air once the breathing cycle is in place. When travelling at speed, the purge valve had enough resistance to prevent it from free-flowing, but was easily operated when required. This would be especially useful if diving in a current. The XTX200 is suitable for use with up to 40 per cent oxygen as standard and can be cleaned for higher mixes and is available as either A-clamp or 300-bar DIN fitting. Any thoughts on my Scuba gear list? I have been researching gear and asking various divers' opinions on what kind of gearI should buy. I am a newer diver who will be taking my Advanced classes soon. About 50% of my diving will be done in warm tropical oceans, and the other half in Canadian freshwater lakes during the summer months. I plan to remain a recreational diver, and will eventually take my equipment to 130 foot depth.

It's all very good equipment. The only concern I have is the Integrated Air2.
In a real OOA situation, it can be difficult to breath from the same hose you need to control your buoyancy, and maybe the buoyancy of your partner.
With lots of practice, it isn't an issue.
