Civil Engineering Bath, Loughborough or UCL? I will study Civil Engineering September onwards and have applied through UCAS. I have now received conditional offers from Bath, Loughborough and UCL. I now need to choose one as a firm and one as insurance
(firm = first choice, I have to go there if I get the grades)
(insurance = 2nd choice, in case I don't get to first, I will HAVE to go to this one)
Now which one shall I choose as what?
The requirements:
Bath: AAA
Loughborough: AAB
UCL: AAA
I am living in London and will most likely achieve AAAA or AAAB.
Please give me advice.
Which one shall I choose as firm and which one as insurance?
Loughborough has a very good commuter link to london so you can be back within 1 hour 30 minutes should you need to be.
The night lifes not great but you would be a 45 minute bus ride from Nottingham, a fantastic city for food, partying and historical stuff.
East Midlands airport is only 15 minutes away so another benefit if you fancy nipping abroad for a long weekend ( Volcanos not included ).
The city of Leicester again is only 10 minutes rail journey from Loughborough and again has a great nightlife, mixed culture and far better shopping than loughborough.
Loughborough is really a small town between two great cities, the engineering potential is high as the midlands holds the largest manufacturing areas of the UK.
And all the above is backed up because I live 10 minutes from the city center LOL
