Why do i keep being put off the careers i really want to do? it's so weird it's like people dont want me to have the same career as them. i was dead set on being a psychologist, but ive been warned off by so many, saying it's too long competitive, stressful, underpaid, and i won't even get into the phd course. so i considered lawyer, but no it's heavy dry work, and theyre all depressed, most hated profession and theres no jobs available anywhere, there's too much lawyers out there, and if youre not in a good uni your not getting anywhere. then an english degree- where would that get me? so ive been convinced by many to do something more realistic and i chose a vocational course (BBB) which will get me a job in the health area. im predicted AAA or AAB at a level. then my friends who are predicted lower are doing all these courses that i wanted to do, and i get soo jelous, cause im being told that i wont get far in them and theyre useless degrees. and my friends are going to go off and get all the things i wanted. but im being realistic. and i cant help but think what if... im making the wrong choice about my life. It sounds to me like what you need to figure out is what you really want to do with your life. Keep in mind that there are pros and cons to EVERY career choice you could make!! Also, there is NO right OR wrong answer in the career choice that you choose.
Once you figure out what you want, ignore what your negative friends are saying and go after it! One way to figure out what you want to do is to ask yourself, "what would I do if I had all the money I could wish for? What job would I do if I had to do it for free?" Because the REAL important part of choosing a career is finding one that you will enjoy doing no matter how much you get paid.
Second, if you are interested in a certain career then here is some good advice: find a psychologists office or something and see if you can follow-them for a day or something. Get a feel for what it is really like.
Finally, remember that what you choose will not be your last choice for the rest of your life!! there are PLENTY of people who go back to school when they are older or change careers mid-stream. (Heck, half the people I have met in the business world are doing jobs that are different then what they degree is. For example, our VP of Operations has a degree in biology!!)

what are names for these careers? A person that works at a job training place, and helps the person gain skills for a job? A person that runs AAA'meetings? A person that runs anger management groups? A person that deals with insurance and billing for medical problems.? I know that a counsler is probably the first thing that comes to everyones mind, but I need something more direct for all 4? 1. Employment Skills Consultant (thats what I do :) )

Anywone with exp. comments greatly appreciated. If he wants to do it, by all means encourage him. But like you said, don't force him into it. My cousin did the same thing, I think he started at 6, and his family kept encouraging him. Without naming names, he was rookie of the year 2 or three years ago in the truck series and has been running in the Busch/Nationwide series this year. In Mlb 08 the show in the career mode, is it possible to start in AAA? I know in mlb 07 and mlb 06 it is but im not sure about this one. Ive tryed to do spring training really good but i never start in AAA. You just have to do really good b4 the team signs you in spring traning also find a team that will really need you at the Pos. your at. its hard though so dont get to mad i started out on the bench in AAA as a picher but, hey i ended my career with 14 Cy Youngs. Roger Cleamens only has 7 hahaha. keep try at it

Insurance Sales Career with AAA? I've been offered a Sales Agent Trainee position with AAA insurance and I'm debating taking the position. In the first month I'll be making $28k until I get my P&C license to sell auto and home. After that I'll jump to $40k for the first year. After the first year I'll be at 100% commission with no commissions on renewals per AAA standards. Is this a good career opportunity? AAA will pay for my license. I am expected to obtain the license in the first month. I don't have to reimburse them. I do have to go to a 30 day training session. Anybody ever work for AAA selling insurance. sounds good. If you are no good at it you can quit before the year is up. Living on commission is stressful sometimes. Do they make you reimburse them for the liscence if you quit? That would be something to consider

Thoroughly research the careers yourself, then make your own decisions. It's your life; quit letting other people -- no matter how well-meaning they may be -- tell you how to live it.

Should I play AAA or stay AA? Currently I play AA and I am the second or best defencmen on my team.I have a wicked hard slapshot maybe the hardest in the league. But im thinking AAA would set me up for a college hockey career. What do you think. You can't just play AAA you have to be good enough -.- If you think you can hold up try to make AAA next year.

my player on mlb 08 the show in career is still in AA how do i move up to AAA or mlb? my player plays 2nd base and im in my second year It takes a while...seriously. I was on the Mariners in Right Field...this is the worst team in baseball and I was trying out for their weakest position (besides 1B). It took me one full season to jump from AA to AAA...and then another full season to go from AAA to MLB.
I get bored with it sometimes and just simulate, but you got to make sure to reach your advancement goals. They will keep telling you that you're doing a great job meeting your goals but they want to give you more time and get you more experience in the minors...it's kind of dumb.
I had a .480 AVG with over 100 stolen bases and 100 RBI before the all star break at AAA and they still didn't call me up. So I'm not too sure if the stats really matter.

alevel results BBB (biology chemistry maths) careers? At first, i really wanted to be a dentist, and i have all the work experience and extra attributes to apply; however, i become really stressed towards exams and therefore do not recieve as good of grades as i need. Dentistry requires AAA in almost every university, and even though i am in AS and i havent received my results, i want to be realistic and i believe ill get BBB. What other careers can i pursue with BBB (what i think ill get) with Biology Chemistry and Maths since i am going to cross dentistry off my list. Thanks! Don't be too hasty. Apply to the same dentistry schools that you were intending to, and when interviewed tell them what you have told us. You may find them flexible. If you get no offers consider a university on the continent. Many will take British students and helpfully teach in English, your student loans are still available, and Dutch universities at least are cheaper than the UK.

What's it like working for AAA? I'm thinking about pursuing a career as a travel agent with the AAA motor club. Any thoughts on what it's like working there? I've found that AAA is a great company to work for. They value each and every employee. The travel agency within AAA is very strong. Many travel agencies went under after 9/11 but AAA was able to pull through, primarily because of the other business lines that were able to bring in revenue that year. Even if you decide that the travel industry is not for you, AAA has so much to offer. They prefer to promote from within rather than go to the "outside" to fill a position.
