Most LEDs illuminate with about 0.6V, so with the proper series resistor you can illuminate the LED with a 1.5V battery. So for a 20 ma LED, you need to drop 0.9V, or a resistor value of 45 ohms.
Edit: Didn't notice the link. You could only change the battery if you also changed the LED. I would just go with the original.

computer wont boot. how do i get to setup? Dell Dimension 8400, 5 years old running XP Pro. Msg started a week ago:"Low voltage, system battery". I followed directions to copy info in setup, before changing the battery (CR 3V 2032) but now I can't enter setup (Hold F2 during boot). The most I get on the screen is a cursor in top left corner, occassionaly. After being off for 2 days it offered me the option of "Boot to last good configuration.." along with ? choices. It did NOT boot at all. Once, with powersuite 2010 in the CD slot it said ??? Error checksum...?? or something like that. It appears to try to boot if I don't touch it for 36 hours. Get a new computer

What do the letters and numbers mean on cr2016 3v or cr2032 3v? I get that the 3V refers to 3 volt but what about the 2016 and 2032? I've got a CR2016 lying around never used and my CMOS Battery in my Dell Computer just ran out would it do any damage to try the CR2016 ? They both appear to be the same diameter and appear that the CR2016 may fit. They might look similar, but they have a slightly different diameter or thickness.
All CR batteries have the same technology (Lithium) and the same voltage (3.0)... but different companies select a different model to fit their size requirements.
It wouldn't damage your comp. to try, but make sure the battery is in there tight and won't fall out and short circuit your board

PC motherboard battery installation? My PC motherboard has a Panasonic, CR 2032, 3V battery made in Indonesia. I need to replace it bcoz my clock keeps changing time so I bought a Maxell, CR 2032, 3V battery made in Japan 1. Does it matter bcoz one is panasonic made in indonesia and the other is Maxell made in Japan? 2. Can anyone give a step-by-step procedure to replace the old one? do i have to configure anything when PC is booting? or just switch off the PC, remove the old battery and put the new one, and turn switch PC on (I have windows XP) Thank you. open the tower. look for the old battery. use a screw driver to release the clip that's holding the old battery in place. put the new one in. turn the pc on. you will need to supply the current time settings in the bios. don't worry, it's automatic. when you turn the pc on, the system will automatically ask for a new time & date setting.

This is not milliamps per hour but milliamp hours. This however is a hard unit to measure so the value on the battery(if there even is one) is going to be an approximation at best. AA batteries typically have a rating around 3000mAH. A 2032 coin cell is likely only going to be in the 200-300mAh range. Therefore the higher power(though much larger) AA cells will likely last longer.
The voltage does not matter so much since a diode will only drop a certain voltage. Because of this, there always needs to be a resistor in series to avoid damaging the LED. Since it's a blinking LED though, there is *probably* already one inside it along with the blinking circuitry. Also, since it has blinking circuitry that is always powered, then no, it won't last twice as long but it may be pretty close though. LED's use very little power and can last quite a while on a single battery.

Game Boy Color Save Battery? my pokemon gold game stopped saving and i need a new internal battery. I know what kind i need but i would like to purchace it inside a store (NOT online). the battery is a BR-2032 3V battery. Its one of those coin batteries. Is a CR-2032 3V battery same as a CR-2032 battery? I need a CR-2032 3V battery, but when I checked my online store they were selling one that said just plain old CR-2032 without the 3V part. Are they the same thing? They look similar, but since my friend is getting it for me, I don't want him to go all the way to the store and get the wrong one. Thanks for the help !
